Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need from you?
Your mix! If you mixed with processing on your mixbus, send me that version. If you added processing to your mixbus after mixing, send me the processed and the unprocessed versions. If you didn’t process your mixbus at all that’s perfectly fine too. I want to hear the version you were happy with, and if any processing needs re-evaluating I’ll request alternate versions as necessary. The file can be as loud as you want as long as the true peak value is below 0dbfs. File format does not matter, just bounce your mix at the same sample rate you mixed it - do not upsample or downsample.
Pricing?
I don’t charge as much as you might expect. Since mastering is about being supportive and caring for the art and the artist, I try to reflect the same ethos in my pricing. Reach out with details about the scope and timeframe of your project for an estimate. ~~Please also send me listening examples even if they are works in progress!~~
Payment?
A variety of payment methods are available so you can choose what works best for you.
What will you get from me?
Digital files, via a download link. ~~Sample rate/bit depth and file type can be at your request if you have something specific in mind, otherwise I’ll give you what I think sounds best and will translate to your listeners most effectively.~~
I do not offer mastering for vinyl. Despite the fact that I use analog equipment, I strictly offer digital audio delivery methods. This also means I do not master from tape to digital.
If requested, I can provide specific versions of a master for specific use cases; reach out and we can discuss your needs.
